Klaipėda Container Terminal implements Portchain quay

Klaipėda Container Terminal has announced the implementation of Portchain Quay, continuing its digitalisation journey following the successful deployment of Portchain Connect earlier in 2026.

The new platform will replace fragmented manual planning processes with a centralised solution for berth, crane and gang planning, supported by real-time vessel tracking and planning scenario capabilities.

Portchain Quay provides a shared, real-time planning environment enabling the terminal’s planning team to make faster adjustments and plan with greater detail.

Internal functions including Engineering and Operations gain a real-time view of the berth plan, strengthening cross-departmental collaboration, while shipping lines and other customers receive access to a continuously updated berth lineup reflecting the latest plan, reducing the need for email updates and repetitive phone enquiries.

Vaidotas Šileika, CEO of Klaipėda Container Terminal, described the implementation as part of the terminal’s continuous investment in solutions that improve operational efficiency and resource management, highlighting the platform’s ability to enable faster and more informed decision-making, optimise berth utilisation and deliver a more reliable and transparent service experience for clients.

Thor Thorup, CCO and Co-Founder of Portchain, expressed satisfaction at expanding the collaboration with Klaipėda Container Terminal, noting that having already strengthened shipping line connectivity through Portchain Connect, the terminal is now advancing the digitalisation of its day-to-day berth operations planning.
