Georgia Ports Authority appoints new President

Kevin Price has officially assumed the position of President of the Georgia Ports Authority, effective July 1, 2026. His appointment follows the announcement made on February 10, 2026, that Price would join GPA reporting to CEO Griff Lynch.

The transition plan calls for Price to succeed Lynch as President and CEO on August 1, 2027, when Lynch will retire following a 38-year maritime career, including fifteen years with Georgia Ports Authority.

Price brings more than 30 years of port operations experience to the role, having most recently served as President of Gateway Terminals in Savannah from 2021 until joining GPA.

His prior experience includes serving as Chief Operating Officer of Virginia International Terminals alongside multiple leadership roles across the port terminal industry. He is a graduate of The Executive Program at Darden School of Business, University of Virginia.

Lynch described Price as the ideal candidate to take GPA and its team to the next level, while GPA Board Chairman Alec Poitevint highlighted Price’s collaborative leadership style and customer focus as qualities well suited to maintaining Georgia Ports at the forefront of innovation and growth.

Price expressed enthusiasm for building on the authority’s momentum and working closely with GPA’s team, customers and business partners to continue raising performance standards.
