Cefetra has signed a ten-year agreement with Associated British Ports at the Port of Immingham, securing substantial storage space at the UK’s largest port by tonnage volume and reinforcing a partnership that spans nearly three decades.
Cefetra is one of the UK and Ireland’s major traders of grains and animal feed raw materials, handling approximately five million tonnes of raw material annually with a turnover exceeding GBP 1 billion, supplying customers across the animal nutrition, food and drink industries including dairy, beef, poultry, pork and bakery sectors.
The long-term contract provides Cefetra with a stable foundation for future planning and continued efficient movement of raw materials to the businesses that depend on them, while confirming Immingham’s strategic importance within the company’s UK supply network.
Cefetra is part of Cefetra Group, which has more than 120 years of experience in agriculture and international trade.
Paul Litten, Head of Commercial for ABP in the Humber, described the ten-year agreement as an important endorsement of the strategic role the Humber plays in UK supply chains, highlighting the combination of extensive storage capacity, efficient cargo handling and direct market access available at Immingham.
James Neilson of Cefetra Ltd described the agreement as reflecting the company’s commitment to reliable customer service and expressed appreciation for the strong working relationship built with ABP and the Immingham team over the years.
ABP’s four Humber ports of Immingham, Grimsby, Goole and Hull collectively form the UK’s leading trade gateway by volume, handling more than 50 million tonnes of cargo annually worth over GBP 60 billion.
