CentrePort has advised of a fatal incident at Wellington’s port involving a worker employed by an independent stevedore.
The port authority has extended its thoughts to the family of the worker, his colleagues, the independent stevedore and the CentrePort personnel involved in the initial response.
CentrePort is supporting the independent stevedore, New Zealand Police and Maritime NZ as the safety regulator in their response and investigation, and is unable to comment on the specific circumstances of the incident at this time.
