Piraeus Container Terminal secures Certified Receiver Licence

Piraeus Container Terminal (PCT) has obtained a Certified Receiver Licence from the Greek Customs Authority, according to COSCO SHIPPING Europe.

The authorisation allows PCT to handle rail transit cargo arrivals directly at its authorised premises.

COSCO SHIPPING Europe said the new authorisation will help simplify customs procedures for cargo arriving by rail.

It is also expected to improve operational efficiency and enhance services for customers and logistics partners.

The development strengthens the integration of rail operations with PCT’s container terminal activities at the Port of Piraeus.

Rail connections play an important role in moving containerised cargo between Piraeus and inland European markets.

According to COSCO SHIPPING Europe, the new licence supports the port’s position as a gateway connecting maritime and inland transport networks across Europe.

PCT operates the container terminals at Piers II and III of the Port of Piraeus.
