APSEZ raises full-year outlook after strong second quarter

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has raised its revenue, EBITDA and capital expenditure guidance following strong results for the second quarter of the 2027 financial year.

The Indian port and logistics operator reported consolidated revenue of ₹11,340 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026. This represents an increase of 24% from ₹9,167 crore in the same period last year.

EBITDA increased by 23% to ₹6,807 crore, while profit after tax rose by 18% to ₹3,682 crore.

During the first half of FY27, APSEZ generated revenue of ₹22,161 crore, up 21% year on year. First-half EBITDA also increased by 21% to ₹13,347 crore, while profit after tax rose by 14% to ₹7,332 crore.

APSEZ’s domestic ports business generated quarterly revenue of ₹7,177 crore, an increase of 13%. EBITDA rose by 11% to ₹5,201 crore, with the segment maintaining a margin of 72.5%.

Domestic cargo volume reached 118 million tonnes during the quarter. APSEZ held 27.3% of India’s overall cargo market and 44.4% of the country’s container market.

The international ports division recorded revenue growth of 71% to ₹1,839 crore. EBITDA more than tripled to ₹878 crore, while its margin reached 47.7%.

International cargo volumes increased from 10 million tonnes in the corresponding quarter last year to 24 million tonnes. APSEZ attributed the growth to the expansion of Colombo West International Terminal, stronger activity in Tanzania and the contribution from NQXT in Australia.

Colombo West International Terminal handled two million TEU during its first 18 months of operation. The recently inaugurated second phase increased its capacity from 1.6 million to 3.2 million TEU.

Tanzania operations handled a record 265,518 TEU during the quarter. This included a monthly record of 91,625 TEU in July 2026.

Revenue from APSEZ’s logistics business increased by 21% to ₹1,273 crore. EBITDA rose by 8% to ₹237 crore.

Container volumes handled by the logistics division reached 167,453 TEU. This represents a 15% increase from the first quarter of FY27, which was affected by disruption in West Asia.

Marine revenue increased by 57% to ₹1,007 crore, while EBITDA rose by 32% to ₹447 crore. The company’s marine fleet expanded from 127 vessels to 138 vessels.

The growth reflected fleet additions, stronger offshore services and APSEZ’s entry into subsea operations.

APSEZ raised its full-year revenue guidance by ₹1,000 crore to a range of ₹44,000 crore to ₹46,000 crore.

Its EBITDA guidance was also increased by ₹1,000 crore to between ₹26,000 crore and ₹27,000 crore. Meanwhile, planned capital expenditure was raised by ₹3,000 crore to a range of ₹15,000 crore to ₹17,000 crore.

“Domestic ports continue to anchor our earnings, while international ports, logistics and marine are emerging as powerful growth engines,” said Ashwani Gupta, Whole-time Director and CEO of APSEZ.

The company invested ₹10,521 crore during the first half of FY27. Its net debt-to-EBITDA ratio stood at 1.8 times, while its cash balance reached ₹12,502 crore at the end of September.
