Michels Corporation has been selected to construct a new multi-use marine terminal in Savannah, Georgia.
The planned facility will cover around 91.5 hectares within the larger SeaPoint Industrial Terminal Complex.
Unlike other major terminals in Savannah, the new facility will be privately operated rather than managed by the Georgia Ports Authority.
The marine terminal will include approximately 914 metres of quay.
Plans also call for an access channel with a depth of 14.3 metres.
Few other details about the terminal’s infrastructure or planned cargo capacity have been disclosed.
However, project illustrations indicate that containers could form a significant part of the facility’s cargo mix.
The marine terminal will form part of the 314-hectare SeaPoint Industrial Terminal Complex in Savannah.
Michels Corporation has been selected as the contractor for the new 91.5-hectare marine facility.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027.
No expected completion date, investment value or container handling capacity has been announced.
